Elizabeth Rains is the author of The Vancouver Parents Survival Guide (Brighouse Press) and Demon in My Blood (Greystone Books, 2017). She has been a reporter for the Vancouver Sun, the managing editor of The Capilano Review, and the publisher of Pacific Rim Magazine. Her feature articles have appeared in more than forty newspapers and magazines. She frequently writes about the Sunshine Coast in the Coast Reporter and in her blog Rains on the Coast.
Elizabeth has been teaching editing at Simon Fraser University for fifteen years. She has taught journalism, editing, media law, and publishing at Langara College and Capilano University. She speaks frequently on writing and editing topics at publishing industry conferences.
She has won four writing awards and holds a master's degree in journalism from Carleton University.
